NFL MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers is still a member of the Green Bay Packers - at least for now. But all indications point to that era soon coming to an end. Packers management seemed to imply as much last week, setting off a firestorm from both fans and pundits alike as to what Rodgers' next move would be.
The team he's most been linked to is the New York Jets, with their team management already having traveled via private jet to meet with him. And for those of you wondering when the official decision will be made, you won't have to wait very long.
While chatting with former Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall on the ‘I AM ATHLETE’ podcast, Rodgers had this to say about his future:
“Stay tuned," Rodgers said. "I think it won’t be long. There’s a time limit for all this.”
“It’s always interesting meeting important figures in the sport – yeah it’s always interesting," he said of meeting with Jets management. "That’s all I’m giving you.”
As you know, Rodgers also recently spent time on a "darkness retreat" that had plenty of people talking.
“All the answers are right inside me,” he said of the darkness retreat. “I touched many of them, and definitely the feelings, on both sides, during the darkness, and I’m thankful for that time.
“There’s a finality to the decision. I don’t make it lightly. I don’t want to drag anybody around. Look, I’m answering questions about it because I get asked about it. I’m talking about it because it’s important to me.”
