Aaron Rodgers nearly joined Patriots instead of Jets!
Can you imagine Aaron Rodgers with Bill Belichick?

The Aaron Rodgers era is now officially on with the New York Jets, as the controversial former NFL Most Valuable Player and future Hall of Famer was finally dealt from the Green Bay Packers after months of speculation and sparring between the two sides.
But what if he had been traded to a different destination....say, one that had also recently lost their franchise future Hall of Fame quarterback? According to a recently released report, Rodgers actually rejected a trade that would have sent him to the New England Patriots prior to his landing with the Jets.
According to Fox Sports analyst Craig Carton earlier this week on his FS1 morning show, Rodgers was on the verge of being dealt to New England, though he rejected the reported deal with his heart set on joining New York instead.
“Aaron Rodgers almost wasn’t a Jet,” Carton said. “The New England Patriots made an offer to the Green Bay Packers to get Aaron Rodgers, and when Aaron Rodgers heard it, his agent said, ‘No, we ain’t playing for New England. We want to be a Jet.”
A Rodgers to New England deal would have made a great deal of sense for both sides, as you can bet that Belichick wants to prove that the legendary success the franchise enjoyed wasn't just sole to Tom Brady, while his relationship with Mac Jones hasn't exactly been the smoothest.
Just how strange would Rodgers have looked playing for the Patriots instead of trading the green uniform of Green Bay for the Jets?
