It’s the Jordan Love show now with the Green Bay Packers, having officially taken over the starter’s role after Aaron Rodgers was dealt to the New York Jets.
Love led the Packers to a Week 1 win over the rival Chicago Bears with 245 passing yards, three touchdown passes and no interceptions. And it was Rodgers who delivered a special message to Love afterward.
During his usual appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show”, Rodgers had this to say to Love:
“I’ve been texting the guys. I did send J a text after the Bears game. Well, after they pulled away because I wanted him to see it when he got back his phone. ‘Congratulations on keeping the ownership in place.’ That was pretty awesome for him.”
Rodgers is out for the season after suffering a ruptured Achilles just four plays into his Jets debut earlier this month, meaning he will have plenty more time to pay attention to how his successor in Green Bay performs in 2023.
