They've been historic rivals for quite some time now, but is the luck of the Washington Commanders beginning to turn? And if so, is that bad news for the Dallas Cowboys? One particular Cowboys analyst seems to think so.
Jon Machota, who Cowboys fans know from his writing with The Athletic, stated his belief that Washington's sale from the embattled Dan Snyder to Josh Harris and company is not good for Dallas.
“I’ve done a ton of interviews, and when people want to talk about that sale, I tell them that this is bad for the Cowboys. If you’re a Cowboys fan you want Dan Snyder to own the Commanders forever," Machota said while appearing on 106.7 The Fan.
Of course, a rival team being run by poor ownership is typically something that fans of a particular team would love to see. But if the Commanders are getting more stable ownership, this could lead to future success on the field.
“D.C. is a phenomenal sports fan base, but there have been so many games over the last decade where no one is there, even against a big rival; the last thing you want is the Commanders getting back in this thing, and all of a sudden, it’s the clear best division in football. You (if you're a Washington foe) want them to stay down!” Machota concluded.
Cowboys fans, is the fact that the Commanders are getting better ownership a sign of bad things to come?
