Baker Mayfield requests trade from Browns, who tell him to pound sand!
This is about to get messy!
Someone needs to grab the popcorn, because this is about to be a messy (and entertaining) saga.
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has officially requested a trade, stating that it would be in the best interest of both parties to move on from one another. Of course, this comes the day after the Browns met with Deshaun Watson.
"It’s in the mutual interest of both sides for us to move on," Mayfield said to ESPN, as reported by Adam Schefter. "The relationship is too far fine to mend. It’s in the best interests of both sides to move on.”
However, the Browns don't appear willing to grant his request.
Mayfield has one year remaining on his deal that will see him earn $18.8 million.
