Beef between Ben Roethlisberger and Antonio Brown revealed

Was this the source of their tension?

Ben Roethlisberger will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks in Pittsburgh Steelers history, and he's still a legend in the minds of fans. Meanwhile, former Steelers wideout Antonio Brown could have been on his way to similar territory had he not been so controversial.

It was no secret that the two of them didn't always get along during their tenure in Pittsburgh, and now, one former teammate of the pair is shedding light on why that may have been. Long snapper Kameron Canaday appeared on the "Keep Hammering Collective" podcast with Cameron Hanes and explained his view on why there were issues between Roethlisberger and Brown.

"[Antonio Brown] is one of the hardest working mother f**kers I've ever been around in my entire life," he said. "This is during camp, when guys were trying to work their absolute a** off to make the team, and he's still blowing everyone out of the water [physically], still outworking them. The guy had a motor, he didn't slow down, and he was like that for 16 weeks, and I think that's probably why him and Ben [Roethlisberger] probably got into it a little bit, because Ben had his two Super Bowls, and he got banged up, and Ben would sit out a little bit. He just liked to take it easy until Sunday. He kind of earned it, but when Antonio Brown was running routes for second and third stringers, and then he's not getting that connection on Sundays, yeah, he's going to start freaking out. That's kind of what he did, which I don't blame him for, because he's got that Michael Jordan mindset."

It sounds as though Brown had a tougher work ethic in Canaday's mind, and if that's true, it would certainly rub him the wrong way to see a teammate taking it easy after getting banged up. Don't be surprised to see Roethlisberger respond before long to tell his side of things.
