Blockbuster trade between Cowboys and Steelers floated
Talk about a monumental shift for both teams!
As both the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers continue preparations for each of their respective upcoming campaigns, one notable trade proposal that would be a monumental shift for both sides has been suggested.
According to Brad Gagnon of Bleacher Report, the Steelers should look to acquire star wideout CeeDee Lamb from the Cowboys in exchange for George Pickens and a draft selection.
The reasoning behind his massive trade proposal:
“Unlike the rookie receivers already mentioned, George Pickens is established in the NFL despite being just 23,” Gagnon wrote. “Still, the Steelers could opt to maximize their weapons for Russell Wilson and Justin Fields.”
“Because Pickens is coming off a 1,000-yard sophomore season, this would be slightly closer to a player-for-player deal, with Dallas saving money and gaining some draft capital and Pittsburgh doing everything in its power to get this right. This move makes quite a lot of sense considering the Steelers are in better cap shape than the Cowboys.”
Lamb, who is set to become a free agent after the upcoming 2024 campaign, is coming off a spectacular season for the Cowboys, leading the NFL in receptions with 135 for an impressive total of 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. However, he's in the midst of a contract holdout.
Suggesting a franchise altering move like this is certainly easy for analysts to do, but would Omar Khan or Jerry Jones seriously take the proposal into consideration?
