Brandin Cooks sounds off on CeeDee Lamb's holdout
Will an agreement be worked out soon?
The Dallas Cowboys were without superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb for the first portion of offseason workouts, as he's holding out for a contract extension that he feels is more in line with what he brings to the team.
However, his fellow star receiver in Brandin Cooks isn't exactly upset at his teammate, saying that he needs to use the absence to continue to work on his own personal game and make sure that the Cowboys don't eventually regret paying him.
“I’m always there for him,” Cooks said per the Dallas Morning News. “My biggest advice is just to make sure you doing what you have to do so you can come ready for training camp, whatever the case may be, so you haven’t missed a beat so they don’t regret paying you."
Additionally, the Cowboys were also without Micah Parsons, another top Cowboys player who needs a new contract. However, he has the support of quarterback Dak Prescott, who will ironically also need a new deal in short order.
“Yes, I mean, that’s my guy,” Prescott said. “Not many more people out there, more swaggier, cooler, better player, than that guy. So obviously you’re gonna miss him, miss having him around. But I’ve been in this situation, it’s business, business is business."
