It is now official, the Denver Broncos hired Sean Payton as their new head coach.
ESPN insider Adam Schefter reported that according to his sources, Payton signed a 5 years contract.
The New Orleans Saints will receive the Broncos' 2023 first-round pick (No. 29 overall) and 2024 second-round pick for Sean Payton and Saints 2024 third-round pick.
Payton had to be traded because he is still under contract with the Saints despite being a TV analyst for FOX this season.
According to 9 News.com insider Mike Klis former Saints head coach will receive something between $17million and $20 million per year while Payton was looking to sign for something in between $20 million and $25 million.
It has been said that the Miami Dolphins were ready to pay that kind of money to him but seems like Payton decide to go with the Broncos and less money.
