Bud Dupree spurns Steelers, heads to AFC West
A reunion won't be happening in Pittsburgh.
Free agent linebacker Bud Dupree was rumored to potentially make a return to the team that selected him in the 2015 NFL Draft. However, that reunion won't be happening.
According to multiple reports, Dupree will instead be signing with the Los Angeles Chargers:
Dupree, who played collegiate football at Kentucky before being selected by the Steelers, spent the first several years of his NFL career in Pittsburgh before being signed by the Tennessee Titans. He played last season with the Atlanta Falcons, starting 16 games and was tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks.
In 119 games played, Dupree has started in 99 of them and racked up 213 solo tackles, 53 sacks, 90 quarterback hits, and 12 forced fumbles.
