For Pittsburgh Steelers fans who want to see Cam Heyward retire, you'd better take a seat because it's apparently not going to be happening.
The veteran defensive lineman was anything but healthy during the 2023 season, appearing in only 11 games thanks to various injuries and recently underwent core muscle surgery. And you can bet that the 35-year-old is hearing the calls for him to hang up the cleats from certain segments within the fan base.
He had the following to say to his doubters on Instagram:
"Funny how you get hurt and kill yourself just to get back to play and not be 100 percent. Now they want you to retire cuz I was hurt all year🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️ Atleast I know where y’all stand. Yall quick to forget when I am healthy…. But I look forward to reminding yall"
During his career, Heyward has earned six Pro-Bowl nominations, been named a 3x First Team All-Pro, and was named the 2023 Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year.
