The Dallas Cowboys have one more game remaining on their regular season schedule before they turn their attention to the 2023 postseason. And while they'll be looking to go on an extended run, could it be the last appearance that a key member of the team is making wearing the Cowboys colors?
According to a recent prediction from CBS, the Cowboys will be losing the upstart Tony Pollard this offseason. The fourth-round pick in the 2019 draft is currently in the final year of his contract, and CBS believes that he'll be getting a big time payday outside of Dallas.
"Whether it's working in the pass game, beating defenses to the corner off a jet sweep or just operating as your typical back in between the tackles, Pollard is a versatile weapon (that) teams are going to be bidding on -- more so than Barkley, Jacobs, or Montgomery," CBS predicts. "Spotrac projects Pollard will sign a three-year, $25.40 million deal that carries an average annual value of $8.4 million. My prediction is it's going to be higher than that, with his new AAV surpassing $10 million."
However, the good news for the Cowboys is that CBS is predicting that they could potentially be picking up Chicago Bears free agent David Montgomery as a replacement for Pollard if the latter indeed leaves.
Cowboys fans, would you be willing to part ways with Pollard if they're unable to come to terms on a new contract for next season?
