CBS Sports disrespects Steelers QB Kenny Pickett
We don't agree with this at all!
The Football Feed
The Pittsburgh Steelers had themselves a new starting quarterback in the form of 1st round draft pick Kenny Pickett, who took over from the struggling veteran Mitchell Trubisky earlier in the 2022 NFL season.
And while it wasn't completely smooth sailing, Pickett rebounded nicely in order to lead the Steelers on the verge of a postseason spot. Unfortunately, despite the winning record of 9-8, the Steelers would fall just short of qualifying for the postseason and had to watch from home.
You can bet that Pickett is going to be fully dialed in to get his team back to the postseason later this year, and he's certainly putting in the work to ensure that he's nothing short of his best when the team gathers for training camp in preparation for the upcoming campaign.
But according to CBS Sports, Pickett really isn't anything special. In fact, they've ranked him amongst the worst quarterbacks in the NFL! In their latest ranking, he comes in at No. 28, ahead of only Mac Jones, Baker Mayfield, Desmond Ridder and Sam Howell.
Take a look at how CBS described Pickett:
"How far does “grit” get you? Certainly few young QBs are better-suited to grow thanks to an improved Steelers front and pass-catching group, but Pickett thrived more as a late-game fighter than efficient full-timer as a rookie."
Yeah, that's gonna be a big eye roll from us, CBS Sports - especially after he won six of his last seven starts last year! Who else is looking forward to Pickett proving them wrong in 2023?
