There wasn't much that went right for the Dallas Cowboys this past Sunday night against Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at AT&T Stadium. Not only did the Dallas offense fail to score a single touchdown during the 19-3 Week 1 setback, but quarterback Dak Prescott was injured after hitting his hand on the helmet of Shaq Barrett while following through on a pass to Ezekiel Elliott.

Oh, and a handful of other key Cowboys contributors in Connor McGovern and Jayron Kearse also suffered injuries; all three will be out multiple weeks.

With the likes of Michael Gallup and James Washington also out of the lineup due to injury, the Cowboys were relying on receiver CeeDee Lamb to shoulder some of the offensive load in their absence. But Sunday night, Lamb managed to rack up only a mere 29 yards while hauling in only two catches on his 11 targets. Not exactly the kind of numbers they were expecting.

And according to Cowboys executive vice president Stephen Jones, that isn't good enough.

“I think we’ve certainly got to step up and do better,” Jones said on 105.3 The Fan on Monday, via Mark Lane of WFAA. “The passing game goes hand-in-hand, the quarterback and the receivers. Certainly, we’ve got to be better there. CeeDee has got to improve and work his way into being the No. 1 receiver we think he can [be].”

The Cowboys will be hosting the Cincinnati Bengals this Sunday in Week 2.
