Chiefs TE Travis Kelce's wife mocked on social media after horrible take
Can someone take their phones away during games?
Not much is going right for the Kansas City Chiefs this season.
They dropped to 3-4 on the season with today's blowout loss against the Tennessee Titans, losing a 27-3 contest this afternoon in Music City. What's worse is that quarterback Patrick Mahomes suffered a blow to the head, requiring him to enter concussion protocol.
Thankfully, he cleared the protocols, but he was pulled in the 4th quarter by head coach Andy Reid.
Kaya Nicole, the wife of Chiefs TE Travis Kelce, took to social media earlier today to say that she thinks replays of injuries suffered on the field should be illegal.
"Showing slow motion replays of gruesome hits or injuries should be illegal," she tweeted. "One of the most barbaric elements of this sport. smh".
Meanwhile, Brittany Mahomes, Patrick's fiancee, agreed and retweeted:
Of course, it wasn't long before reactions immediately began pouring in.
For Mahomes, he's going to rely on the veteran leadership in the locker room to help get the team out of their funk and back to their perch atop the NFL.
"We have enough leaders on this team that we have to find a way," Mahomes said. "I don't know what that's going to take yet. We'll go in. We'll talk about it. We'll watch the film but I trust we'll find it. That's part of leadership. That's what great teams are, being able to battle through adversity. It's been kind of rainbows and flowers and awesome for these last few years. But whenever you want to build something substantial and you want to build something great, you're going to go through [times] like this.
"It's still early in the year. We can still get whatever we want but it's going to take us getting better every single day. ... We have the talent in this locker room that we can make it happen."
