Colin Kaepernick calls out Raiders for not signing him
He's back at it with more to say.

It was around this time last year that former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick got a chance to prove that he can still play at an NFL level, landing a workout with the Las Vegas Raiders. This came not too long after team owner Mark Davis said that he believed in the former quarterback and was willing to give him a shot.
Of course, that came not long after he participated a much-hyped workout in an attempt to make a return to the pro stage last year. And despite several teams reportedly showing interest, none took a waiver on him. He also missed out on a chance to join the XLF, as they balked at his reported salary demands.
In short, the Raiders did not sign Kaepernick after his workout, which former NFL star Warren Sapp declared to be a "disaster". And now, Kaepernick is speaking out about it, saying he was told by the Raiders that they were going to proceed with starter Derek Carr
“I’ve heard a lot of excuses over the years,” Kaepernick says, “but most of the time it ends up, ‘Oh, we’re going to see how the guys that we have do.’ With the Raiders’ situation last year, that was Stidham and Nick Mullens, which to me, you just compare résumés and capabilities, on top of the workout and the feedback, it’s like, ‘O.K., cool.’
“Obviously, there’s something else within this decision. To me, that’s typically what it ends up being, or has been for the last seven years. So, I just want the opportunity to come in, show what I can do on the field. Judge me based upon that, not the political bias that you have.”
Kaepernick became synonymous with social justice reform when, as a member of the San Francisco 49ers, knelt during the national anthem in 2016 to protest police brutality and social inequality. Kaepernick has not seen NFL action since January of 2017 with 49ers. He opted out of his contract in March 2017 and has has been a free-agent ever since.
