There are plenty of people who are hoping that the Washington Commanders will make the decision to return to their former moniker of the Redskins after the sale of the team from Dan Snyder to the Josh Harris group.
However, team president Jason Wright is shutting down any notion of that possibility by stating in no uncertain terms that a name change is not on the table.
A fan petition that has gained over 70,000 signatures is requesting the new ownership group to pivot and change the team name back to the Redskins. But based on comments made by Wright, it's all going to be for nothing.
Are the Commanders making the right call by sticking with their current name?
