The Dallas Cowboys have continued their work of restructuring several of the contracts on their books, having already done so with Dak Prescott, Zack Martin and Michael Gallup. Go ahead and add another name to the list.
According to multiple reports, DeMarcus Lawrence is the latest member of the team to have his contract restructured, freeing up additional cap space to the tune of $8.89 million:
Lawrence is a 2nd round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft out of Boise State by Dallas; he was given the franchise tag in 2019 before the two sides came to a five-year, $105 million agreement. Suiting up in all 17 regular season games for Dallas last season, Lawrence racked up 65 total tackles, nine tackles for loss, six sacks, three forced fumbles, two recoveries, including one returned for a touchdown, and three pass deflections.
