Cowboys apparently decide Brett Maher's fate
He struggled inexplicably in the postseason.

It was perhaps the most bizarre situation involving a National Football League kicker that we've ever seen earlier last month. Dallas Cowboys kicker Brett Maher somehow missed a total of four extra point attempts over the course of his team's postseason victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in what could have been an absolutely disastrous situation.
The good news for Dallas was that his misses didn't affect the final outcome, and they were able to overcome his inexplicable misses. And despite making field goals from 25 and 45 yards out against the San Francisco 49ers the following week, an extra point attempt (that appeared to be veering wide left) was blocked by the defense.
And while team owner and general manager initially stood by Maher despite his struggles, it appears as though that's over and done with.
“We are back to the drawing board,” Jones said recently about his team's kicking situation.
Maher's struggles not only drew heavy scrutiny from the social media world, but also from both Eli and Peyton Manning as well as Texas governor Greg Abbott and Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson.
It wasn't like this for Maher during the regular season, as he converted 90.6% of his field goal attempts and 94.3% of his extra point attempts.
