Will he live up to it?

Even though the Dallas Cowboys made the call to bring aboard wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans to pair along with CeeDee Lamb as weapons for quarterback Dak Prescott, they still have big plans for Michael Gallup in 2023.
Gallup, whom the Cowboys selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, tore his ACL and appeared in only nine games during the 2021 season. Last year, he was limited to just 39 passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns.
However, according to The Dallas Morning News, head coach Mike McCarthy has told Gallup that he'll be more heavily featured in the offensive attack this season.
“I think Michael Gallup has a great chance to take the next step,” team executive vice president Stephen Jones said during the NFL Scouting Combine in February. “Know what he can do. Coming off a major ACL, I think it’s pretty typical, you know, that guys improve, [and] from the first year to the second year is usually the jump. And I fully expect Michael to do that, and then I think we’ve got a good competitive group after that. Can we look at maybe improving it? Absolutely.”
Gallup racked up 424 receiving yards along with four touchdowns on 39 catches during the 2022 NFL season. He's averaged a total of 53 receptions for 819 yards and four touchdowns in his four seasons.
