This is absolutely the last thing that the Dallas Cowboys needed right now.
Left tackle Tyron Smith suffered a torn hamstring during Wednesday's practice, and needless to say, won't be suiting up in action any time soon. The news was confirmed by NFL Insider Adam Schefter of ESPN.
Despite walking off the field under his own power, Smith was initially grabbing in pain at his knee, and soon underwent an MRI.
“He gave me a nice, reassuring grunt like he usually does,” left tackle Connor McGovern said, via ESPN's Todd Archer. That’s the one thing playing next to him for so long, I can decipher his grunts. I think he’s all right.”
Smith missed six games last season, and has missed a total of 32 games over the past six seasons.
