Even though the Dallas Cowboys made the call to bring aboard wide receiver Brandin Cooks from the Houston Texans to pair along with CeeDee Lamb as weapons for quarterback Dak Prescott, they still have big plans for Michael Gallup in 2023.
Gallup, whom the Cowboys selected in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft, tore his ACL and appeared in only nine games during the 2021 season. Last year, he was limited to just 39 passes for 424 yards and four touchdowns.
But as he continues getting his strength back up to his normal speed, he's shared good news about this recovery.
"I was thinking too much [last season]," Gallup said Wednesday, via The Athletic. "My knee was feeling sore and it was just different. I never really had it like that last year."
"It's different," Gallup said when asked about his knee now. "I feel springy again."
Gallup racked up 424 receiving yards along with four touchdowns on 39 catches during the 2022 NFL season. He's averaged a total of 53 receptions for 819 yards and four touchdowns in his four seasons.
