Cowboys release critical update on Trevon Diggs
He missed most of last season after tearing his ACL.
Dallas Cowboys CB Trevon Diggs suffered a season-ending injury just three games into the 2023 campaign, tearing his ACL. This means he was forced to undergo extensive physical rehabilitation to get back into playing shape.
Right now, his status for starting the season on time remains up in the air, as does his status for their upcoming Training Camp later in the summer. And according to comments made by head coach Mike McCarthy, he's enjoying what he's seeing from Diggs so far in team minicamp.
However, he didn't offer any kind of specific timeline for when he'll be able to fully suit back up.
"We'll respect the timeline, but Trevon looks great," McCarthy said this week during the minicamp. "He's in a good spot. I just talked to him a little bit there Monday during the physicals. As far as when he gets back, let's be honest, we're going to be very cautious with those guys. We're not going to put them out there too soon. Better later than too fast."
Considering the talent that they've lost since Diggs last played, fans are hoping that he'll be back to playing shape by the time that the team gathers for Training Camp, which begins on July 22.
