It was initially feared that Dallas Cowboys starting center Tyler Biadasz suffered a season ending ankle injury during Thursday's victory over the Tennessee Titans. But ahead of New Year's Eve, there has been positive news released on his condition by the team after he underwent an MRI on Friday.
"It's better than we anticipated," said head coach Mike McCarthy of the injury.
“His scan was positive," he continued. "He’ll start rehabbing in the morning. I don’t think he’ll be available for Washington but it’s better than we anticipated, so that was good news.”
Meanwhile, team CEO Stephen Jones had a positive update during an interview on 105.3 The Fan, saying that he could in fact be ready to go for the wild-card round of the playoffs.
"We feel like he’s got a real chance to make it back for our first playoff game," Jones said. "He’s had that high ankle before on the same ankle, and believe it or not, when it’s the second time around, those guys tend to recover a little faster, a little quicker than they did the time before. We’ll just have to see.
“Tyler is a tough guy who is competitive as hell and wants to be out there.”
The Cowboys take on the Washington Commanders on January 8. As it currently stands, the Cowboys have a 12-4 record and are in second place behind the rival Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC East Division. And they'll certainly be needing all hands on deck if they hope to make a lengthy postseason run.
