It was his first action since Week 1.

Things weren't exactly going according to plan for Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys during the 1st half of this afternoon's game at AT&T Stadium against the struggling Detroit Lions. Many were expecting Prescott to put up major offensive numbers against Detroit's defense, the worst in the NFL, during his first game back in action since suffering a hand injury in Week 1.
However, the Lions defense was able to hold Dallas to a mere three points during the 1st half, leading to boos from the capacity crowd. However, things turned around in the 2nd half for the host Cowboys, outscoring Detroit by a 21-0 margin and earning their 5th victory of the season.
Fans will be relieved to hear Prescott declaring that he felt perfectly fine this afternoon.
“I felt great," he said in his postgame media remarks. "Thumb wasn’t bothering me."
"There's nothing that can substitute this," he continued. "This game has always been a safe haven, peace for me. To get back between those lines, go to war with my brothers, a bunch of selfless men who just care about the overall team success, there's nothing like it."
As far as his feelings towards several of his rookie teammates, it was nothing but love.
"(It's) one of the best rookie classes I've seen in my seven years here," Prescott said. "I feel like I said that last year....It's huge to our team success."
Prescott also admitted that despite some of his throws being into double coverage, it was simply a factor of his feeling so confident. But he understands the need to be better moving forward with those decisions.
“Some of those throws were overconfident, and I need to guard against that," he said.
The Cowboys are next in action on October 30 as they host another NFC North opponent in the Chicago Bears. And you can expect to see Prescott under center once again for Dallas.
