The Dallas Cowboys have informed quarterback Will Grier that he was going to be cut from the team after his heroic performance in their final pre-season game last week, leading to a tearful goodbye in his postgame presser comments.
"At the end of the day I just relied on the fact that I know how to play football. And I'm good at it. I knew when the game started, I could just play football, and that's what I did.
"I think my play speaks for itself. I'm a team-first guy...at the end of the day it's a numbers thing. It's just part of the job I signed up for. It's hard, it's tough, because you get close to people. But at the same time, I'm going to be just fine. Everybody is going to be fine."
That, coupled with the fact that the Cowboys have brought in quarterback Trey Lance from the rival 49ers, effectively sealed Grier's fate with Dallas. However, Cowboys fans aren't so sure.
Several fans are not happy with Grier being on his way out with Lance being on his way in.
