It was a shocking story that occurred just over a year ago, as former Ohio State Buckeyes and Pittsburgh Steelers QB Dwayne Haskins was killed after being struck by a dump truck while walking on Interstate 595 in Fort Lauderdale, FL. Haskins was pronounced dead at the scene; he was only 24 years of age.
And now, a lawsuit is being filed on the near one year anniversary of his passing by Rich Ellsley of the Ellsley Law Firm, alleging mechanical problems on the truck that struck Haskins while also raising questions as to why other drivers were able to avoid him but the truck wasn't.
“A few drivers even had time to call 911 and were present in the area before Dwayne was hit,” the lawsuit reads.
