A key former member of the Dallas Cowboys Super Bowl winning teams of the 1990's is getting himself a well-deserved honor from his collegiate playing days.
Nate Newton was formally inducted into the Black College Football Hall of Fame's Class of 2022 Saturday night in Atlanta; the former Cowboys guard won multiple Super Bowls with Dallas and was also a six-time Pro Bowler.
Prior to his NFL career, Newton played collegiately at Florida A&M and would earn All-MEAC honors playing right tackle as a senior.
He would later sign with the Washington Redskins as an undrafted free-agent, and would later play with the Tampa Bay Bandits of the USFL. However, he'd rise to NFL prominence when he signed with the Cowboys in 1986. He would go on to earn six Pro Bowl nominations from 1992 to 1996 and then again in 1998.
He was also a key piece of the Cowboys Super Bowl-winning teams of 1992, 1993, and 1995.
