Former Green Bay Packers quarterback Matt Hasselbeck is out of a job for now after being informed that he is being let go from ESPN, ending his tenure with the network that began in 2016 after he retired from the NFL.
He primarily served as an analyst on “Sunday NFL Countdown” as well as a variety of other ESPN programs. And unfortunately, he's just the latest in what has been a massive round of layoffs for the Disney-owned company.
It was announced that at least 7,000 jobs would be cut this year, and Hasslebeck's was one of them. But he's hardly the only notable figure who was let go. The list of names also includes Jeff Van Gundy, Jalen Rose, Max Kellerman, Keyshawn Johnson, Suzy Kolber, Steve Young, Ashley Brewer and LaPhonso Ellis.
He played for the Packers from 1998 to 2000, and also spent time with the Seattle Seahawks, Tennessee Titans, and Indianapolis Colts.
