It's safe to say that former Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Steven Nelson isn't happy about being cut by the team, even years after the fact.
During a recent episode of his podcast titled "The Corner Suite", he discussed how he first became aware of the fact that Pittsburgh was going to move on from him in the form of a phone call from head coach Mike Tomlin.
"Going to my last year, my cap number’s high,” Nelson said. “These motherf***ers felt the need to call me during the offseason, literally probably a day before free agency. [Mike Tomlin], he called me on some s***. ‘Hey Steve, I think upstairs, they’re looking to trade you. I’m like man, get the [explicit] out of here. You don’t think. You know something."
Nelson then added a dig at the team.
"A good laugh at is like. Ever since I left, they ain’t found a corner yet. They’re still searching. High and low, they’re searching for mother******s," Nelson added.
Nelson would then move on to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he would play a full season before joining the Houston Texans. He also went viral during the 2023 NFL postseason when he intercepted Browns quarterback Joe Flacco and returned the ball for a touchdown.
