Ex-Steelers WR Allen Robinson finds a new home
He's found himself a new NFL home.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers starting wide receiver Allen Robinson has found a new home, as he's signed a free agent contract with the New York Giants, his 5th NFL team.
The Steelers acquired him in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams last year, and he would go on to play all 17 regular season games with the Steelers and hauled in 34 catches for 280 yards. He also only averaged 8.2 yards per reception, a career low. Steelers GM Omar Khan made the decision to release him, making him a free agent.
The 30-year old wideout was signed to a three-year, $46.5 million contract in March of 2022, but only hauled in 52 receptions for 339 yards with three touchdowns in the 2022 season before his year was cut short after 10 games because of an injury.
After playing collegiately at Penn State, he was selected by the Chicago Bears in the 2014 NFL Draft in the second round. He would play four years with the Bears and another four years with the Jacksonville Jaguars before arriving in Los Angeles.
