There is tragic news out of the world of professional football this afternoon, as former NFL quarterback Ryan Mallett has died suddenly at the age of 35.
According to reports, the cause of death was due to drowning.
Mallett first started his college career at the University of Michigan before transferring to Arkansas, where he would go on to play for two full seasons.
He would later be selected 74th overall by the New England Patriots in the 2011 NFL Draft, and would serve as backup behind Hall of Famer Tom Brady.
In 2014, he was traded to the Houston Texans, and would also later join the Baltimore Ravens.
