Free agent WR Zay Jones rejects the Cowboys
Well, so much for that potential addition to the Cowboys.
He was one of the most coveted free agent wide receivers on the open market, and he was considering joining the Dallas Cowboys, who hosted him for a visit. However, a deal between the two sides never materialized, and he'll be playing elsewhere in the upcoming 2024 NFL Season.
According to multiple reports, Jones has signed with the Arizona Cardinals, as first indicated by NFL Insider Ian Rappoport, who wrote the following on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account":
"Free agent WR Zay Jones is signing with the #AZCardinals, per me and @TomPelissero. Another veteran option for Arizona, as Jones — who also visited the #Titans, #Chiefs and #Cowboys — lands."
He was limited last season due to injury, and also ran afoul of the law by earning himself a misdemeanor domestic battery charge after an incident with the mother of his child; the case was eventually dropped.
