Heartbroken daughter of Larry Allen breaks silence
It's nothing short of a heartbreaking situation for the Allen family.
In an absolutely gut-wrenching statement, the daughter of the late Dallas Cowboys legend Larry Allen has broken her silence following his tragic death on Sunday while on vacation in Mexico.
Jayla Allen wrote the following update on her social media account, addressing the shocking death of her father by saying that she's in "complete shock".
“I don’t know how to write this message and what to say. I am in complete shock. I feel like this is a nightmare and I can’t wait up. Every night I would pray to keep you safe. This doesn’t feel real dad. I am heart broken and don’t know where to go from this,” Jayla wrote on Instagram.
“I was blessed with the best father who loved me unconditionally. You would do anything for our family and I am forever grateful. I feel completely broken and don’t know where to go from here. The pain of losing you will stay with me forever. You were my best friend and twin. People always said we were so much a like and that always made me smile. I know you are in peace and with granny.”
Allen is survived by his wife Janelle and their three children, Larry Allen Jr., Loriana Allen and Jayla.
Among his career accolades was helping the Cowboys to victory in Super Bowl XXX over the Pittsburgh Steelers while also earning six first-team all pro nominations, 11 Pro Bowl nominations, being named to the NFL's All Decade Team of the 1990s and 2000s, and being inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor. Additionally, he was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
