Jerry Jones explains why Jimmy Johnson once again snubbed for Ring of Honor

Once again, former Dallas Cowboys head coach Jimmy Johnson has been snubbed from being included in the team's elusive Ring of Honor, and team owner/general manager Jerry Jones has an explanation.
This year, it was Cowboys legend DeMarcus Ware who was inducted. Ware set the all-time franchise record for sacks with the Cowboys with a total of 117 in nine seasons played. He would then take his talents to the Rocky Mountains, signing with the Denver Broncos with whom he would win Super Bowl 50. He was also named a Pro Bowler in 2014 and 2015.
However, the standoff between Jones and Johnson continues. And when he was asked about why Johnson still has yet to be inducted.
“I think that it’s very important to realize this is DeMarcus’ time. This is his year,” Jones said. “He’s a player. Jimmy’s not. OK? And so I wanted to put him in because it’s him and I wanted to put a player in.”
It wasn't the easiest of splits between Johnson and the Cowboys after it was reported that he wanted more control over personnel decisions - something that Jones wasn't willing to relinquish. Johnson was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020; however, he's yet to be inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor.
Just how long will it be until Johnson takes his rightful spot in the Ring?
