Jerry Jones makes big-time comparison to new LB Anthony Barr

Jerry certainly thinks highly of his team's newest asset!

The Dallas Cowboys have themselves a new asset on the defensive side of the ball, bringing aboard defensive lineman Anthony Barr from the Minnesota Vikings, with whom he had spent the first eight years of his career.

According to Barr, he decided to head down south because he views the Cowboys as a contender, and his thoughts are certainly well founded given the thought that the Cowboys are the reigning NFC East champions. But what does team owner Jerry Jones think of Barr? The Cowboys owner and general manager had some high praise for Barr, comparing him to an iconic former member of the franchise in Tony Romo.

Take a look at what Jerry had to say:

“I thought Romo was probably as pure a competitor, certainly equal to anybody I’ve been around,” Jones said. “Tony was competitive in every way, physically and otherwise. Parsons is unique in that he’s competitive in the most challenging physical areas. … I don’t want to make more of it than it is, but he brings a competitive spirit that is Mike Tyson-esque. He reminds me of that because he’s in there, involved in areas of our game that are so demanding physically. Yet he brings that extra wind to it, or excelling to it.”
