The Aaron Rodgers era is officially over in Green Bay, as they finally moved on from the controversial quarterback by trading him to the New York Jets. This means that the starter's role finally belongs to Jordan Love, whom the Packers drafted in 2020.
But just how comfortable is he in the starter's role? It almost appears as though he was giving a subtle hint to Packers management with his recent comments of saying he doesn't have a bonafide go-to receiver to target, though he hinted that it could actually somehow be to their benefit as a confusion to their opponents.
“I don’t think we have that one player that right now is like, ‘Oh, this is who we have to go to with the ball’ and throw the ball to on third down, so defenses might not know who to focus on, on third downs," Love recently said during OTA's. "I think that all ties in and will help us out.”
The Packers have both Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs along with Jayden Reed as options for Love this season. But is the team really lacking that "true" number 1 wide receiver that would strike fear into the hearts of the opposition that they face this season?
What's more, was this a message to management from Love that he needs a bit more aid as he enters the season for the first time as the unquestioned starter?
