Kenny Pickett compared to 2-time Super Bowl winner
Will he end up having a similar career?
The Football Feed
Quarterback Kenny Pickett is in his second year as the starter for the Pittsburgh Steelers since taking over at this point last year for veteran Mitchell Trubisky, and fans have every reasonable expectation for him to further develop as one of the League's top players at the position.
And according to analyst Bill Simmons, Pickett is turning into a familiar name to all football fans in two-time Super Bowl winning quarterback Eli Manning, who spent his career with the New York Giants.
“It’s an incredible comparison. The throw he had to Pickens at the end of the Ravens game is the most Eli moment ever that Eli wasn’t involved in.” Simmons noted. “It’s very similar to the Eli thing in that, the teammates love Eli, they trusted Eli for whatever reason, he would come through over and over again in big moments, you would watch the totality of his games and say ‘is Eli Manning good?’. Maybe Kenny Pickett is becoming the new Eli?”
Manning would earn a spot in the Pro Bowl four times in his career, and also earned the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award in 2016. Of course, he was also named Super Bowl MVP in each of the Giants two wins.
Can Pickett ultimately have a similar career to Manning's?
