Mike McCarthy reveals interest in DeAndre Hopkins
Are the Cowboys interested?
The Football Feed
There was a bit of surprising news that came through last week, as the Arizona Cardinals decided to part ways with wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins after three seasons in the desert. And almost immediately, the Dallas Cowboys were listed as the odds-on favorite to be landing his services.
So, what does head coach Mike McCarthy have to say about any reported interest on the part of his club in Hopkins? Based on what he had to say, it doesn't sound as though the team is in any hurry to bring him aboard despite calling him a "hell of a talent".
“I really like the look of our group," McCarthy said of his wide receivers. "There’s nothing good that comes out of those answers. Hop is a hell of a talent.”
Hopkins has already stated that he'd prefer to play for a contending team that has a solid quarterback as well las stable ownership. The Cowboys would certainly provide both of those aspects.
However, it appears as though Hopkins will have to look elsewhere for a job if he intends on continuing to play in the NFL in 2023.
