The Minnesota Vikings will not be participants in this year's edition of the postseason, as their hopes were officially dashed with their most recent loss to their divisional foe in the Green Bay Packers.
And while their final game of the season could be used to get a look at some younger pieces of the team in preparations for next season, don't expect quarterback Kellen Mond to get any reps, despite the fact that starter Kirk Cousins is in COVID-19 protocol and replacement starter Sean Mannion was briefly injured.
While Mond did replace Mannion briefly and complete two of his three passes for five yards in the fourth quarter, Zimmer apparently doesn't have any plans to let him get any reps again.
“Not particularly,” Zimmer explained when asked if Mond could see some action in Week 18.
Why?
“I see him everyday,” Zimmer responded.
Oh my. Talk about destroying someone's confidence!
