NFL Network hints Kenny Pickett could play vs. Browns
How short is Trubisky's leash?

To say that the Pittsburgh Steelers haven't exactly set the world on fire with their offensive attack through two games in the 2022 NFL season would be a bit of an understatement.
The 1-1 Steelers have seen first year quarterback Mitchell Trubisky deliver rather underwhelming performances, completing just 59.2 percent of his passes while having averaged 181 yards thus far. The shoes to fill of the recently retired former Super Bowl winning QB Ben Roethlisberger are certainly large, but while the Steelers didn't expect Trubisky to be the next Big Ben, they'll certainly need more out of him.
And according to NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero, Trubisky's status as the starter for the Steelers is going to be determined by how he performs in the immediate future, starting with tonight's Thursday Night Football matchup.
"Mike Tomlin has given no indication publicly or privately that he is considering a quarterback change at this very earlier point in the season," Pelissero reported. "My understanding is that at this point, it's a week to week evaluation. And the Steelers quarterback plans are going to be dictated by how Trubisky plays beginning tonight."
Meanwhile, NFL Network's Brian Baldinger believes that 1st round selection Kenny Pickett could ultimately make his NFL regular season debut tonight if Trubisky struggles during tonight's 1st half.
"Maybe they just need that guy to spark the passing game because that's the strength of a team is their receivers," he said. "And they gotta get the ball down field more regularly to them. If they're struggling in the first half, it wouldn't surprise me at all to see them go Pickett in the 2nd half tonight."
The Steelers take on the 1-1 Cleveland Browns tonight from FirstEnergy Stadium in Cleveland, starting at 8:15 PM EST.
