Odell Beckham Jr. was lowballed by Packers despite desire to play with Aaron Rodgers!
Beckham Jr. was intent on coming to Green Bay, but not for that offer.
The Cleveland Browns were able to rid themselves of wide receiver Odelll Beckham Jr. earlier this month, which made him a free-agent and eligible to sign with any team. He would eventually sign with the Los Angeles Rams, teaming up with quarterback Matthew Stafford in their quest to return Hollywood to the Super Bowl.
But according to multiple reports, there was one team in particular and one quarterback that he had his sights trained on, and that was none other than Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers, as first reported by NFL Insider Jordan Schultz.
However, he was reportedly miffed by the veteran's minimum salary (1.075 million for a full season) along with incentives. Beckham's camp asked the Packers multiple times to increase the offer, but were refused.
"He wasn't going to take the same or less money to go to Green Bay [over Los Angeles]," one source familiar with the contract talks told ESPN.
He'd later sign a one year, $1.25 million deal with the Rams. So far this season, he's caught 19 of 37 passes for 250 yards and no touchdowns.
