Packers announce major contract restructuring
Even more cap space freed up!
The Football Feed
The NFL recently announced that the salary cap would be increasing for each NFL club by just over $30 million, an unprecedented raise in cap space.
And for the Green Bay Packers, they've now added themselves even more space thanks to one particular major contract restructuring. Yesterday, it was announced that the team had restructured the contract of linebacker Rashan Gary, which is going to save $4.781 million of cap space.
Gary was due a $6.2 million roster bonus next month, which was paid in the form of a signing bonus which now allows that cap hit to be spread out.
He played collegiate football with the University of Michigan, and has racked up 179 tackles with 31.5 sacks, five fumbles and six forced fumbles.
