The team must get down to 53 names.

If you can believe it, the 2022 NFL regular season is right around the corner, and the Pittsburgh Steelers will be aiming for a return to the postseason in their first year without the steady Ben Roethlisberger under center in nearly two decades.
But before that can happen, they need to be down to the NFL-mandated 53 man roster. And to that end, the team has announced several roster cuts.
Among the names that have been cut in their quest to get down to 53 names include cut tight end Jace Sternberger, outside linebacker Ron'Dell Carter and cornerback Linden Stephens.
Be sure and stay tuned to Steelers Feed for the latest information regarding any additional cuts as the campaign approaches. The Steelers begin the 2022 regular season on September 11 with a matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals.
