Pittsburgh Steelers lure former Vikings and Cardinals center to Steel City!
Just in from ESPN's Adam Schefter!
Pittsburgh Steelers general manager Kevin Colbert has his eyes on improving his team's offensive line, especially after Kendrick Green subpar performance last year.
And it looks like they've got their man. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the Steelers are inking former Vikings and Cardinals center Mason Cole on a three-year contract:
Cole played collegiately with the University of Michigan, where he became the first Michigan offensive lineman to start in the season opener of his true freshman season at the age of 18 in 2014. He would also twice be named to the All-Big Ten offensive second-team.
He was drafted by the Cardinals in third round of the 2018 NFL Draft (97th overall). It wasn't long before he'd find himself as Arizona's starting center, starting all 16 games the following season.
Just under a year ago, he was traded to the Vikings in exchange for a 2021 sixth-round pick. He'd suffer an elbow injury in Week 15 and was placed on injured reserve in December.
