Report: Multiple teams in on ex-Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott!
He could have a new team soon.
The Football Feed
The waiting game continues with now-former Dallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott, who continues his period as a free agent after being released by the Cowboys earlier this year after their season once again came to a close at the hands of the rival San Francisco 49ers in the postseason.
And while the Cowboys have not completely shut the door on a potential return to Dallas, Elliott has drawn interest from a handful of teams. He's already met with the New England Patriots, but departed their training earlier in the month without an official deal having emerged.
And now, the New York Jets have emerged as a team with interest in Elliott, according to The Athletic.
"The Patriots have remained highly interested in Ezekiel Elliott, and the Cowboys are also in the mix to re-sign the 28-year-old, according to league sources. The New York Jets have also been in on Elliott."
"The Jets have shown heavy interest in Dalvin Cook, but there haven’t been any recent developments on that, according to a league source. The Patriots, who had some peripheral interest in Cook, are now almost certainly not going in that direction, according to a league source."
With the NFL preseason already underway, it seems as though it will only be a matter of time before Elliott officially joins a new team - or perhaps even returns to Dallas.
