Report: Rams working on contract extension with Matthew Stafford!
It looks like he'll be sticking around for the long haul.
The Los Angeles Rams are reportedly working on a contract extension with quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has led the franchise to the Super Bowl after being acquired just over a year ago from the forever floundering Detroit Lions.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Rams and Stafford's agent are "looking to hammer out" an extension during this offseason.
In his first season with the Rams, Stafford threw for 41 passing touchdowns and 17 interceptions and a passer rating of 102.9. For Rams general manager Les Snead, he explained that their acquisition of Stafford wasn't just for this season, but beyond, and that he anticipates a deal getting done.
Stafford and the Rams will be taking on Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals later today in Super Bowl LVI.
