Are the Pittsburgh Steelers considering bringing back an old friend? According to NFL Insider Adam Schefter, it appears that way.
According to Schefter along with several other reports, the Steelers have met with free agent linebacker Bud Dupree, whom they selected in the 2015 NFL Draft. Schefter wrote the following on his X (formerly known as Twitter) account:
"Free-agent LB Bud Dupree concluded a visit with the Los Angeles Chargers, per source. Dupree also has been talking with the Falcons and Steelers, two of the three NFL teams for which he has played."
Dupree, who played collegiate football at Kentucky before being selected by the Steelers, spent the first several years of his NFL career in Pittsburgh before being signed by the Tennessee Titans. He played last season with the Atlanta Falcons, starting 16 games and was tied for the team lead with 6.5 sacks.
In 119 games played, Dupree has started in 99 of them and racked up 213 solo tackles, 53 sacks, 90 quarterback hits, and 12 forced fumbles.
