Report: Trubisky finished with Steelers!
Looks like he's a one and done in Pittsburgh.
The Football Feed
The Pittsburgh Steelers certainly had some major shoes to fill upon the retirement of Hall of Fame quarterback Ben Roethlisberger this past offseason, and they decided to try and fill that void with veteran Mitch Trubisky. It didn't exactly work out, and it wasn't long before the Steelers would replace Trubisky with 1st round draft selection quarterback Kenny Pickett.
It was Trubisky who agreed to a two year, $14.2 million deal with the Steelers to compete for the starting job with Pickett and Mason Rudolph. But according to the latest report, it sounds as though he won't be fulfilling the second year of the contract in Pittsburgh.
Several outlets have indicated that Trubisky is likely to be released:
Trubisky appeared in seven games during the 2022 season, completing 65% of his of his pass attempts for 1,252 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions while rushing 19 times.
