Sports Illustrated has difficult message for Packers fans
Patience is needed.

Things aren't going right for the Green Bay Packers right now. As it currently stands, they sit at 2-5 through the first seven games of the 2023 season, with the latest loss coming in the form of a disappointing setback against the rival Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field.
They are currently ranked second to last in the NFC North Division, which is being led at the moment by the Detroit Lions - something that Packers fans never thought they'd see any time soon.
And according to Sports Illustrated's Andrew Brandt, Packers fans are going to need to take the medicine for this year.
He wrote the following:
"Packers fans:
I know it's frustrating, but it's a growing year.
$60 million of dead Cap.
$28 million of injured Cap.
Only one skill player (Aaron Jones) not on a rookie contract.
Most inexpensive offense in NFL.
And a new QB.
Hard to be patient as fans but that's necessary now."
Going through the pain of an off-year is necessary for teams to be able to rebound with a renewed effort and hopefully better results. For the Packers, it looks as though they're going to have to wait until next season to try and become a force in the NFC North again.
